Trailer B

All of these pictures are taken from the second, so-called full trailer, also called Trailer B. I captured these from a quicktime trailer on the official site, hence the logo in the lower right hand corner of all these pictures.

Hey! In this trailer Darth Maul talks. The mysterious figure Maul is talking to is Darth Sideous, who is apparently the Phantom Menace that the title of the film refers to. Don't expect Maul to do a lot of talking, though. According to producer Rick McCallum, "...An actor could only go so far in this role because because it was so physical... It's not a major speaking role. It was really about attitude and stunt performance." We also hear from online sources that Ray Parks is *not* voicing his own performance, but is being dubbed by another actor.

Here's a trivia question for all of you out there: What do we see in this picture that was not in any of the previous Star Wars film, but should have been? And the answer is not Ewan McGregor's butt. Notice the floor beneath Obi-Wan... We can see a reflection from his lightsaber! Up until now, due to their post-production nature, lightsabers never cast light. Think especially of the scenes in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi where a backlit Darth Vader is holding his lightsaber, yet it isn't lighting up his front of all. This was hidden well in Empire with the blue and red lighting of the Carbonite chamber, but less well hidden in the fight under the stairs in Return.

This is Darth Maul's ship, the Sith Infiltrator. Isn't it convienent that the bad guys give their ships evil sounding names?

Here Darth Maul departs his ship, while on the right we see another typically scary Darth Maul face shot. Maul brings new meaning to "mugging" the camera.
