Ocean's Twelve

I think I enjoyed Ocean’s Twelve as much as Ocean’s Eleven (2001). It’s just as funny and interesting and glamorous as the 2001 film, with some very nice European locations thrown in for good measure.

"Brad, why did you get your jacket at the 'Big 'n' Tall' store?"

The action picks up three years after the “Bellagio Job.” The various members of Ocean’s Eleven have gone their separate ways, but every one of them receives a visit from Bellagio owner Benedict (Andy Garcia).  He wants his money back, and they have two weeks to get it. Too hot to work in America, the gang goes to Europe, but quickly discover that they are in competition with the French super-thief known as the Night Fox. The Fox (a thinly disguised analog of Arsene Lupin) is responsible for the gang’s current troubles because he wants to prove that he’s the world’s greatest thief

The plot this time around isn’t as tight, with a series of heists instead of the one really clever heist of Ocean’s Eleven. However, the movie is still a blast. It’s tough to talk about the funniest scenes without ruining the surprises, so I won’t, but all the actors assembled for this movie are terrific. And I love Steven Soderberg’s style. Ocean’s Twelve may be little more than a trifle despite the star studded cast, but I look forward to seeing it again.
