The Casino (Episode 3)

I've kept watching The Casino (FOX, Mondays at 9), mainly because now I need to see how bad it can get. I'd be really worried that everyone in Vegas acts like a 12-year old with sociopathic tendencies, but the show continues to be so obviously staged I can't be sure it reflects reality in any way. My favorite part do this episode has to do with Ernie and Jenn. Ernie is a "private party planner," Jenn is a fresh faced hairdresser from Oregon. Cameras follow Jenn into town and Ernie as he pulls up in his stretch Humvee, so is it really any surprise that Ernie just happens to try to recruit Jenn into his "entourage"? Days later Jenn decides to take an "arm candy" job from Ernie, but the guy she's assigned to wants to sleep with her. That's the end of that, but we do get some great, no doubt sincere and spontaneous commentary by "KT," a wise blackjack dealer who just happens to always be at whatever table Jenn is at. And I quote:

"Some girls go to the Dark Side, because they need, desire that attention... Everyone's different. The problem is there's nothing I can do, I just deal the cards."

The only way this could get better is if KT started yelling "Pull the string! Pull the string!"

How staged is this show? Well, in the promo for next episode we see that we're going to follow a young man who is interning to be a host at the Golden Nugget. The narration tells us that "his dream job will turn into nightmare." The customer that's giving the intern a hard time? The same guy who wanted to sleep with Jenn.
