Carnivale
I'm really enjoying HBO's
Carnivale.
The series is the story of a depression era traveling carnival that takes on
roadie that may have supernatural healing powers. The show also follow a
preacher that can apparently perform miracles in God's name, though somebody
usually ends up dead. How these two are connected has not been revealed. As far
as we know, the characters in the two plot lines know nothing of each other. But
the series is compelling viewing, with lots of colorful characters played by
barely remembered b-actors, and the series has a great look. It's a sort of
modern Twin
Peaks, but the middle American dust bowl has
been substituted for the American North West.
