Inside Deep Throat

This documentary is the story of the pivotal porn film Deep Throat, both of how it was made and the effect it had on society. The filmmakers (bankrolled by Ron Howard's Imagine Entertainment) have interviews with nearly everyone who was involved with the production, as well as many of the people involved in the lawsuits that followed the film's release. It's a fairly entertaining little documentary, but I learned a hell of a lot more about Deep Throat in the 20-page chapter on the movie in Joe Bob Briggs' book Profoundly Disturbing. Heck, Briggs even includes the fact that Ron Howard had bought the rights to one of Linda Lovelace's books, therefore anticipating this very documentary.

There is one really funny moment where the filmmakers are interviewing the man who had bought the rights to Deep Throat in Florida. He's kind of talking around the fact that he knew that by doing so he'd be getting involved with the mob, and then his wife starts screaming at him from the other room not to talk about that.
