Here's an interesting Reuters article about how

Wreck: In the Pirkinning is now
Finland's most viewed movie. I think this quote is pretty
funny:
The success of Star Wreck comes as the film industry grapples with the threats and opportunities of the Internet.
That's a pretty liberal use of the word "success." Maybe the writer is a bit fuzzy on the fact that Star Wreck is a free download. I don't see any obvious way that they're making money at all. The film industry may be looking for a model for online success, but I don't think giving product away with no return is it.
However, the low expectations created by not charging for Star Wreck have resulted in surprisingly good reviews from nearly everyone online except me, so I guess that's another potential upside.
