Scott's Random Thought For The Day (Miserable Failure)

Remember when George Bush was claiming Iraq had weapons of mass destruction? When the weapons failed to materialize even though we had full control of the country, Bush assured us they would be found, in time. More recently Bush’s line has changed to say we were actually looking for “weapons of mass destruction programs.” And then last night during the State of the Union address Bush said that our invasion of Iraq was warranted because we've found, and I quote, "weapons of mass destruction-related program activities."

What the heck does that mean? How many qualifiers can you add to a phrase before it becomes nonsense?

Here’s my theory. Weapons of Mass Destruction was a popular television program on Iraqi TV, and it had a spin-off (“Do you love Weapons of Mass Destruction? Then don’t miss Joanie Loves Blister Agents!”), and Bush invaded to keep the spin-off’s fan club from holding meetings.

On the other hand, if Bush wanted to bomb Matt LeBlanc to stop “Friends-related program activities,” I’d be all for it.
