Scott's Random Thought for the Day (Japanese Trailers Return!)

Time for more trailers from Japan!

The name of this movie is Ashurajo, as near as I can tell, and it's a fantasy. I'm not sure if the little bit at the end with Sting singing "My Funny Valentine" has anything to do with the movie -- but wouldn't it be great if it does?

Here is the trailer War of the Worlds they are showing in Japan. Lots of people looking stunned and starring into the camera.

Hope you're up on your insulin shots, because this is Hinokio. My first guess was that it was about a paralyzed kid attending school via a telepresence robot, but then there are a couple of alien landscapes and the tag line is "Inter Galactic Love" (sic).

I'm a big fan of Shinya Tsukamoto, maker of bizarre testosterone fantasies like Tokyo Fist and Tetsuo: The Iron Man, but I don't think I will be seeing Vital. It's about a medical student performing an autopsy on his dead girlfriend while having flashbacks about their relationship.

Remember Gigantor? Here's the live-action movie version of the TV show, Tetsujin 28. Too bad it looks pretty boring, with the giant mecha battles having all excitement of a game of Rock 'Em, Sock 'Em Robots.
