God Emperor of Dune by Frank Herbert

I just finished up this 400+ page monstrosity. The original Dune is a great book, but the sequels are so talky as to be unreadable. God Emperor of Dune takes place 3000 years after Leto II (son of Paul) merged with sand trout and became invincible. Now he's grown into a giant worm and re-ordered the universe so nearly everyone lives in mud huts. He does this to guarantee the survival of the human race, or as he calls it, "The Golden Path." As with the two previous novels in the series all the plot is confined to the last 50 pages with the rest being interminable dialogue passages about philosophy. There are a few nice touches, but I think I've read my last Dune book.
