Momma don't take my Kodachrome away

If you were born in the '60s or '70s, chances are some of your childhood was caught on Kodachrome Super 8mm film. Sadly, Kodak announced that, on the 40th anniversary of the format, they will retire the film for good. (As reported by Gizmodo.) My dad shot many rolls of the stuff and even had a little editing kit, which I used in middle school to make an animated flick or two. Then came video cameras and families turned to a method of memory preservation with more instant gratification.

Man, that reminds me. We better digitize those old Super 8 reels before they disintegrate.
